Since it’s the silly season and everybody is too cooked to sit down and get cultured for 25 minutes, we’re keeping this one playful. No eating dog this week sweeties, just me squatting on the streets, eating and comparing the convenience stores around Shanghai. The stores in this city were similar to the ones we found in Tokyo - 7Eleven, Family Mart and Lawson. Just like all the other convenience episodes, I got three items from each store and decided on which one was my favourite. Shanghai had the fucking dopest selection when it came to hot food and that was expected. Instead of just fried chicka, there was the most varied range of steamed buns and you all know how much I like a freshly steamed bun. I would marry anyone with a bum with that same texture, plushie and impossibly soft, I would just eat it all day long.
Because this was the last city, I thought it would be fucking cheeky to compare all the convenience stores across Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai and decide which one was the best. I don’t know who the fuck I think I am to make these sorts of calls or decisions, but remember my darlings, it’s just my fucking opinion. Let’s not get offended at the things I say and just have a giggle.
This is the second to last episode of my Asia series and although I’m a bit sad, I’m also fucking excited for these to finish. Tim and I are only human and doing this every Monday when we’re in different cities is actually slowly tearing me a new one and I think it’s the same for him too. Next week, we won’t have any episodes because typing on a keyboard during the New Year period is not the life I signed up for. But we do have a special gift prepared for you all which is coming soon and I hope you all watch these when while you’re hungover or on your downtime and have a laugh.
