As per the instructions of Ministry of Home Affairs to form teams for Operation Muskaan-V during the month of July 2019, Cyberabad Police has formed teams for Operation Muskaan-V in the nine divisions of Cyberabad.
This year a dedicated campaign “Operation Mukaan-V” was conducted throughout Cyberabad Commissionerate, during July 2019.
All 9 teams were headed by Inspector (W&CSW) Shri. Venkat Reddy and supervised by Smt. C. Anasuya D.C.P (W&CSW).
During this operation the trained police teams screened and rescued vulnerable children. Particulars of such identified children have been checked and uploaded in Facial Recognition App i.e., DARPAN.
Unique feature of Operation Muskaan – V. To trace out the missing children, children involved in child labour, bonded labour, micro industries, begging and trafficked children, rescue them and restore them to their parents and family members. A unique feature has been the use of technology by rescue teams in the form of Facial Recognition App on TS Cop as well as DARPAN. Also with data base being developed, repeat incidents involving children in child labour is noticed which will be monitored further with the help of concerned departments.
The Statistical brief is as follows :-
Cyberabad Police topped in Telangana State by rescuing 541 children and also registering maximum number of FIRs, 247.
Total 541 children were rescued ( Minor boys –483, Minor girls 58)

Cases Registered during Muskaan-V
247 Cases were registered under various sections concerned to crime against children u/s 374 IPC, 75, 79 Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and u/sec 14 of Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Act 2016.
Some Important rescues in Cyberabad Commissionerate.
1. ( 15) Children rescued from Spinning Mill, Medchal
On 15.07.2019 as part of their duties Muskaan Team, Child Line, officials of Labour Department and DCPU rescued (15) children aged 14 to 17 years working as labor in Sri Rama Spinning Mill, Medchal in hazardous condition. They hail from Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Orissa and Assam States. The team registered a case against the management vide Cr. No. 410/2019 U/s 75,79 of JJ Act & 14 Child Labor Act in PS Medchal and rescued children and sent them to Shelter Home.
2. (10) minor children rescued from Metal Industries, Mailardevpally
On 16-07-2019 as part of their duties Operation Muskaan Team, Child Line team, officials of Labour Department and DCPU raided Tripura Metal Industries, Mailardevpally and found that (10 ) minor children were engaged in molding work and were operating heavy loaded machinery in high temperatures of above 40°C due to which their health was getting affected. On enquiry it was revealed that the wages paid to them were also very less and not regular, also their working hours were long without any breaks. The Muskaan V Team apprehended the owner of the company for violation of The Child Labour Act. A case was registered in Cr. No. 493/2019 u/s 14 of Child Labour Act & 79 JJ Act, at Mailardevpally PS.
3. (06) Children rescued from Plastic Company, Kattedan
On 16.07.2019 as part of their duties Operation Muskaan Team, Child Line team, officials of Labour Department and DCPU raided on Vijaya vasuni Paper Plastic Company at Kattedan and found (06) children engaged in collecting plastic papers from machinery releasing heavy heat and hazardous gases which were being inhaled by those children. On enquiry with children it was revealed that they are suffering with breathing / lung problem and their wages were not paid regularly. A case was booked against the owner who violated rules of Labour Act and in Cr.No. 494/2019u/s 14 Child Labour Act & 79 JJ Act, at Mailardevpally PS and the children were rescued and sent to Shelter Home.
4. (05) Children rescued from metal welding industry, Balanagar
On 27.07.2019 as part of their duties Operation Muskaan Team, Child Line team, officials of Labour Department and DCPU went to Dilip Welding Industry, Balanagar where they found minor children doing welding work and getting their hands and eyes badly affected. They rescued them and apprehended the owner of the industry and lodged case against him in Cr. No. 271/2019, U/s 79 J.J. Act, Sec 14 of Child Labour Act, Balanagar PS and sent the rescued (05) children to Shelter Home.
