The intensity Rise of the Resistance rope drop | Disneyland 2020-01-18 Pt. 1

The intensity Rise of the Resistance rope drop | Disneyland 2020-01-18 Pt. 1 We had our Rise of the Resistance media day on Thursday. Then we turned right around and had the grand opening of Rise to the general public early Friday morning. That was manic! And then on Saturday, we returned again for more of the intensity of a Rise of the Resistance rope drop.

The morning began with what I thought was somewhat of a surprise. A completely full esplenade at 7:20 in the morning. By this time on Thursday morning the esplenade had been clear and everyone was in the park.

But they waited a bit on Saturday to let guests in, and suddenly I was wondering if I would be through the gate by 8 am. But like a lot of things at Disneyland, things don’t take as long as they look. We cruised through the entire gate queue in just 20 minutes and were in the park with time to spare.

We set up shop at the top of the stairs at the Main Street Train Station. On Friday I missed some of the energy of the masses as we had our rope drop all the way in Galaxys Edge. On this morning, I wanted to consume as much of this as possible. I absolutely LIVE for seeing guests experience joy and elation when at Disneyland, and I was not disappointed. At 8 am I was rewarded with one of the most memorable experiences I can ever remember having at Disneyland.

Seeing and hearing people experience getting their boarding passes for Rise of the Resistance is un-quantifiable. It’s beautiful. It makes my heart soar. Moments like these make me feel so much love for Disney and Star Wars and for the other fans with whom we got to have this shared experience. I felt like I was at Woodstock.

By the way, we didn’t get a boarding pass. But that didn’t matter! I still wanted to go to Galaxys Edge and see how everyone was enjoying the land on this morning. See the people moving through the exterior queue. Again, I was not disappointed. So much positive energy, I could hug a wookie!

In fact I was feeling so good, I thought the best way to continue this morning was with a morning Ronto Wrap from Ronto Roasters. So we mobile ordered and headed for the marketplace to kill some time before breakfast.

Walking through the marketplace was yet another reminder just how much I love Star Wars, and just how much I love Galaxys Edge. I’m starting to feel some feelings about the land that I hadn’t yet realized that I hadn’t yet felt. Total and pure love.

Stay tuned tomorrow as we’ll be enjoying those Ronto Wraps, then trying to pick up a few extra credits doing a job for Hondo on the Millennium Falcon. I’ve got a good feeling about this…
