Your Game and Your Friend's Game Should Be Set to the Same Difficulty and the Same Map, but can be a Different Quest (from the same map of course.
Just Have a Ton of Money on You So You Don't Accidentally Go Broke.
How to Do the Glitch:
1. Join your friend's lobby and go to the Vendor.
2. Next, sell a weapon or an item with low quanitity sell it (DO NOT ACTUALLY SELL IT!)
3. Switch the tabs by pressing L1 (PS4) or LB (Xbox One) to the Sell Menu.
4. Click on an item with a large enough quantity and set its quantity to the amount of bagpack slots you have remaining.
5. Get your friend to kick you and precisely time when the popup for the Kick Out menu comes on.
6. When you have it right, you should have the menu gone and another one up, whilst being able to move your cursor in the background.
7. Switch to the Buy Back tab and with the quantity you had (remember the remaining slots) press X to buy the amount back and then back out.
8. From there on out, you should have the item or weapon you tried to duplicate, duplicated in your inventory :-)
If you screw up the timing, REMEMBER to buy back the weapon or item you tried to duplicate so it doesn't disappear on you when you leave their lobby.
