Kansas State is now 4-52 all-time against teams ranked in the top five of the Associated Press Top 25 poll, including a 3-24 mark at home. Prior to the 48-41 win against OU, K-State's last win against a team ranked in the top five was against No. 4 Texas in 2006. It was the first win at Bill Snyder Family Stadium against Oklahoma since a 42-35 win on October 26, 1996. Jalen Hurts wasn’t even born until 1998. Lincoln probably won’t win the national title this year. The only two folks to get handed the keys to a car running cherry like that in my memory are Barry Switzer with the Cowboys and Les Miles at LSU. Both won the big game within a year. Six carries running for running backs
Lincoln called just six run plays for his tailbacks. Kennedy Brooks and Trey Sermon got three each. Jalen Hurts threw as many completions as he made rush attempts (19). Just 11 of OU’s 102 rushing yards came from running backs.

When OU’s defensive line made a late shift and slanted, the Wildats called a run play running away from the slant leaving guards and the center clean to cleanup linebackers and safeties
OU unprepared for their run scheme
Check this nifty fake pull by the left guard. White and Murray read the pull and the fullback lead and flow to fill while the left guard checks right and turns into the lead blocker on this play. Those schemes were everywhere. James Gilbert and Skylar Thompson had a field day as Courtney Messingham and Chris Klieman called a great game—as did K-State defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton.
K-State was six of 13 on third down against what was a top 10 third down defense. And they were perfectly balanced: Rushed for and ran for exactly 213 yards.
