Good Samaritan Society – Scandia Village had everything Barbara Larsen needed after a hospital stay left her needing rehabilitation therapy to help get her back on her feet. First, it was the people. Stan Smith and the team of therapist work with cases like Barbara's all the time. "Barbara is sort of a classic example of many of our residents coming from the hospital stay," he says. They're weaker due to not being very mobile in the hospital."
Next, it was the place. Scandia Village's new rehabilitation therapy wing was the perfect spot for Stan to help Barbara get started, and the hallways were a perfect place for Barbara to start walking again. "They teach you to get strength in your legs," Barbara says. "I got leg exercises."
Timing was on Barbara's side, too. Long before she needed rehabilitation care from the Good Samaritan Society, she became a resident. When she had recovered, home is just down the hall in her Meadows senior living apartment.
Barbara is doing so well that she has joined some of the fitness classes on campus.
The Good Samaritan Society has 200 locations in 24 states. Whether you're looking for a place to retire, or you need rehabilitation, we've got a location near you.
