Where is the Engine Air Filter located on an Excavator? John Deere 35G Example

Engine air filters are built into heavy equipment to filter out any contaminants from the air before they enter the engine of the excavator, backhoe, skid steer, track loader, front-end wheel loader, dump trucks, etc.

Engine air filters on heavy equipment, such as the John Deere 35G excavator we use in our example, are located behind the hood and usually in a canister that you can pop open if the air filter needs to be replaced. This will be similar for other makes and models of equipment from CAT, Kubota, JCB, Takeuchi, Volvo, and more.
