KZN ANC expects Gumede to respect its decision to remove her Former mayor of the eThekwini-municipality in Durban, Zandile Gumede, has been removed from her duties.
The PEC also made the decision to remove Themba Njilo, the mayor of Msunduzi-municipality.
The announcement was made during a media briefing in Durban yesterday. The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) held a two day meeting about Gumede's fate.
Mdumiseni Ntuli, the ANC Provincial Secretary in KwaZulu-Natal told the media that the PEC has decided that all the ANC members serving in the executive committees of eThekwini and Msunduzi municipalities will be "redeployed" immediately.
Gumede was suspended in May this year, after charges of corruption; racketeering and money laundering were brought against her and other officials. She is currently out on bail of R50 000.
