Politics As Usual: 'So Coup me' in the House? (03.03.20)

Politics As Usual: 'So Coup me' in the House? (03.03.20) House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano says there is no reason for Marinduque Congressman Lord Allan Jay Velasco to doubt that the term sharing deal will be followed. Cayetano says he is hoping Velasco and his allies would stop spreading coup rumors so the House can get more work done.

The Speaker earlier accused Velasco of offering leadership posts and big budgets to lawmakers who will support his alleged plan to oust Cayetano. Cayetano says he will step down as Speaker at the end of the agreed 15-month term which he says will be in November this year. However he says, Velasco should also keep his word and retain all but one of the existing committee chairmanships if he becomes Speaker.
