Because there’s always so many things that would be said about Caroline that you wouldn’t take everything as truth. So I kind of ignored it.’   The star then received a phone call from a friend who was ‘being weird’ and asking her to come home.  Laura said: ‘Then I did that thing – which I wish I didn’t – I went on Twitter and you see different things, different people posting things.  ‘I can’t really remember what happened after that.   ‘It wasn’t the way that you think you would find out a friend had passed away, so I just got home as quick as I could and that’s when I came in to my friend and she said it was true.’  Laura’s boyfriend Iain Stirling was in South Africa at the time working on Love Island, and Whitmore’s biggest concern was how he was doing.  She said of Iain, who had worked for five series with Caroline: ‘I just wanted him to get to a safe space, if that makes sense? Not to be exposed. Because everyone wants to see what your reaction is.’   In the weeks since Laura has died, Laura had to return to live television to front the Love Island final, where she delivered a touching tribute to Caroline.  And she admits that sometimes she feels guilty for enjoying herself, following her friend’s death.  She said: ‘Sometimes I’ll be watching TV and I laugh at something and then you feel guilty for laughing and then you’ll forget.   ‘And then you’ll remember. I’m kind of all over the place. There’s no right or wrong way to feel; it’s just whatever you feel in the moment.’   It is believed that Laura has signed a £1 million deal to return to the summer series of Love Island, after impressing bosses and viewers.  An inquest heard that Caroline took her own life in her flat in east London.  The star had been awaiting trial for assault, after being accused of hitting boyfriend Lewis Burton over the head with a lamp.  Flack had pleaded not guilty.   It has since been revealed police will not be investigated for their contact with Flack, with a watchdog finding there was ‘no causa
