Stages Bike: 10 Initial Impressions of the Stages Smart Bike

Stages Bike: 10 Initial Impressions of the Stages Smart Bike The Stages Bike is slated for release in Q1 2020. At the recent Tour Down Under I had the chance to spend some time on the bike and talking to the Stages folks about the features we can expect to see on the production units when they start shipping. Once these units start shipping I'll cover the specs in full, the Lama Lab Test results, and pricing, etc.

My Top 10 Observations (before getting one in the Lama Lab):
1 - The flywheel is HUGE! (50 pounds!)
2 - The power meter is Stages Gen 3 on their own cranks. (Not Shimano)
3 - The handlebar drops splay out for better sprint grip.
4 - Tablet/Phone holder is excellent.
5 - Sprint Shifters / Blips can be moved.
6 - The bar tape is super grippy!
7 - The saddle looks similar to a Specialized Power saddle.
8 - TRP levers.
9 - The Box it ships in is very well built
10 - It's quiet.... really quiet... it passed the sleeping baby test there at the Tour Village.
