Every electronic device emits a small amount of radiation and the amount absorbed by body between a specific time period is known as SAR value i.e Specific absorption rate (SAR). In simple words if you want to know how much radiation your phone is putting out, you need to figure out its SAR value. SAR values are usually expressed in units of watts per kilogram (W/kg) in either 1g or 10g of tissue.
The SAR value is the rate at which the body absorbs this lost electromagnetic waves. According to US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), phones with a SAR level of 1.6 W/Kg for body or below are deemed safe.
