Hundreds of cars were flooded after rainwater poured into a shopping mall in Australia today (Feb 14). The vehicles were parked in the underground car park of Cranbourne Park shopping centre when storms swept across Melbourne, Victoria this afternoon at around 2pm local time. Visitors were stranded in the building while the water subsided. Footage shows rainwater bubbling up from drains and covering up to 30cm of the car wheels. Footage of the flood emerged as intense rain lashed Melbourne’s outer eastern and southeastern suburbs, leading to flash flooding and fallen trees. Forecasters warned that hail and flash flooding could follow as commuters headed home for the weekend. The Bureau of Meteorology warned of severe thunderstorms bring dangerous weather across swathes of the city for several hours. ------------------------------------------------------------------
