Jamaica deportation flight arrives in Kingston after leaving UK

Jamaica deportation flight arrives in Kingston after leaving UK Subscribe to the Evening Standard on YouTube:

A group of 17 convicted criminals deported from the UK to Jamaica have arrived in the capital, Kingston.

The deportees, all born overseas, were embroiled in a controversial legal dispute.

Originally, 50 people were listed for inclusion on the Government-chartered flight.

But 25 were stopped by a Court of Appeal ruling, after a challenge by human rights campaigners.

A further eight people were kept off the flight due to legal developments in their cases.

The government argues all 50 people are criminals, and will appeal over the 25 people stopped from boarding.
