Protests were organized in several areas in Hong Kong on Sunday to decry the government's proposed plan to designate 13 general outpatient clinics as Covid-19 patients' treatment centres.
Protesters wore masks and held signs and banners. Some demonstrators held US flags and pictures of US President Donald Trump as they requested US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to assist the Special Administrative Region in epidemic prevention.
"The government is trying to set up a clinic to receive those patients from China's Wuhan and without permission of the local authority," said a protester.
The novel coronavirus, now officially recognized as the Covid-19, has claimed more than 1,700 lives and infected more than 70,000 people around the world.
