Freyssinet | Western Kowloon | Bridge Erection | Lowering Freyssinet executed one bridge erection operation for the footbridge in Western Kowloon Hong Kong in Dec 2019 by a special method which is the 1st time adopted in Hong Kong.

The bridge erection operation includes 2 stages;

1st Stage | Pushing Operation:
Pushing the bridge by about 6m in daytime to shift the centre of gravity of the footbridge passing through the pin support position. Load transfer is also carried out from the pushing system to the lowering system

2nd Stage | Lowering Operation:
Lowering the bridge by strand jacks to the final position. The lowering is about 35m and 50m for Portion B & Portion C respectively.
