Consumer recovers over OMR18,000 in Oman with help from Authority
The Department of Consumer Protection at Al Seeb recently managed to retrieve more than OMR18,000 for a consumer through a friendly compromise.
A complaint came from a consumer about a vehicle he purchased which was not to the agreed specifications and the car agency refuse him a refund.
“Contact has been made with those concerned within the agency who have expressed their cooperation and in light of this a friendly compromise contract has been reached in which it was agreed that the vehicle agency will return the amount paid by the consumer.” - Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP)
The Public Authority for Consumer Protection calls upon suppliers to adhere to the laws in force in the field of consumer protection.
