Black Pilled Leftist Says Climate Change is an Irrelevance, Still Think Economic Growth is a Myth Climate Change is Irrelevant

I agree with the central thesis of the article, that we should focus on environmental issues other than climate change, like plastic in the oceans for example. But the rationale behind it doesn't make sense.
Perpetual growth is misrepresented. You know what kind of product doesn't take additional natural resources? Ideas. Yes, ideas.
You can grow the economy with ideas. Ideas that reduce waste, that improve efficiency. That's how we can get at least approaching perpetual growth.
Now why do we need that growth?
Because countries that have strong economic growth are able to manage issues like population. It naturally stops being an issue when you have good health care services, and low infant mortality. When people are more wealthy, they have fewer children. When countries are wealthy, they can invest in waste management infrastructure.
But I do agree with the central thesis that we can't perpetually offset costs by polluting the environment, or over using natural resources. The earth is finite, but new ideas are theoretically infinite.
So lets come up with solutions like that Boyan Slat guy and the Ocean Cleanup project
