80 Series Land Cruiser Heater Hose Bypass

80 Series Land Cruiser Heater Hose Bypass 1997 Land Cruiser developed coolant leak that was running down the back of the engine block. Initially thought it was a heater hose failure around the heater control valve (HCV), but discovered that the pipe that is mounted to the back of the block that connects the coolant out from the engine to the heaters had corroded and was nearing breaking off. Some people completely bypass the heater cores or sometime the back heater only. I wanted to keep the functionality of both heaters so I broke off the pipe and ran silicone heater hose in a larger piece of green stripe from the bottom of the motor to the heater control valve. I also replaced all the heater hoses with silicone hoses, replaced the HCV, Vapor Canister, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, some rubber fuel lines, and a couple vacuum lines.

Great tips and wrenching on Land Cruisers. Check out Texasknowhow

These are nice hoses, but overpriced. I paid $99 on ebay. If I did again I would just by a bunch of hose from O'Reillys .
