Systems Approach in Selecting and Sizing the Centrifugal Pumps Most liquid transporting systems need pumps to overcome system resistance and to keep the liquid flowing. To select a reliable pumping solution for each system, it is important to understand how pumps (in particular centrifugal pumps) interact with the upstream and downstream systems in both steady state and transient conditions.

In this webinar, basic principles of pump performance curve and system resistance curve will be discussed. It will be highlighted why pump engineers should have a clear understanding of the inter-connecting piping system and layout at upstream and downstream of the pumps.
