Schiff: 'The Senate should allow us a fair trial'

Schiff: 'The Senate should allow us a fair trial' (22 Jan 2020) Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead House impeachment manager says, "The Senate should allow us a fair trial," and he accused President Donald Trump of bragging about keeping documents from House lawmakers during their impeachment inquiry.

"That is nothing to brag about," Schiff said. "If the senators are serious about learning all the facts, if the President's team wants to contest any of the facts, these documents and witnesses will need to be produced."

Schiff also dismissed the idea of making a trade with Senate Republicans over calling former National Security Advisor John Bolton as a witness in exchange for calling Hunter Biden, who served on the Board of Burisma, a Ukrainian company at the center of the Trump's effort to get Ukraine to launch an investigation into Biden and his father, Democratice candidate Joe Biden.

"This isn't like some fantasy football trade," Schiff said.
