Cool Gypsy Jazz Solos - An Easy Scale Over C7

Here’s a cool little hack that will help when you’re playing over a Dominant 7 chord.

The concept is that we are going to play anything we would usually play in Gm over the C7 chord.

This will give your solo lines a cool modern gypsy jazz sound.

In the video lesson you’ll also learn a Gm type scale that you can play over the C7.

So if you play over a D7 play all your Am licks.

Over E7 play Bm ideas and so on.

The concept of playing the minor scale over a dominant 7 chords a great start but don’t be limited to only the notes from the scale. Use it as a springboard to introduce some wild and wonderful new sounds into your solos!
