The Scottish singer had a typically hilarious night on Sunday, January 26 during the annual event held at the Los Angeles Staples Centre. The star posed unapologetically on the red carpet, leaving Twitter users in hysterics, before sharing some awkward encounters he experienced during the ceremony as he was mistaken for a seat filler. Capaldi also shared a snap of himself sitting on the toilet, presumably live-tweeting his bowel movements. The 23-year-old smiled and gave fans a thumbs up as he offered a sneak peek inside his day at the awards ceremony, He captioned the tweet: '”#GRAMMYS BABY!!” Arriving at the event in typically casual fashion – a white t-shirt and black denim jacket – he joked on the red carpet that he wished the camera wasn't so close so his "big belly". To emphasise this he cradled his belly and offered up a half-hearted thumbs up and various facial expressions up while posing for pictures. Inside the event, Capaldi shared that he was mistaken for an employee and not a nominee. He tweeted: “A lady at the grammys has just come up and offered to take my seat because she thought I was one of the people who sits in the chairs to fill them when someone gets up to use the bathroom 😂😂😂😂😂😂 #GRAMMYs” Lewis was nominated for his first-ever Grammy at this year’s awards show, receiving recognition in the Song Of The Year category for his signature hit 'Someone You Loved.' After seven weeks at the top of the UK singles chart last year, the track went on to become a sleeper hit in the US, eventually reaching number one in the States too. Elsewhere, Billie Eilish enjoyed a stunning night of success. The 18-year-old – set to become the youngest artist to ever record the theme for a James Bond film – took home Song Of The Year, Best New Artist, Album Of The Year and record of the year during Sunday’s ceremony. Her hit single 'Bad Guy' earned her two of the prizes and her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? won three, including best pop vocal album. Other winners included Lizzo - who honoured Kobe Bryant in her speech - and Tyler, the creator, who brought his mum on stage with him.
