Today we are working on the turbo boat, a lightweight water rocket powered by a 711ci Sonny Leonard Chevy Hemi, with twin Precision turbos and a custom jet drive. The boat has yet to hit the water but our plans are to begin water testing in spring 2020. Today's task to undo some work we previously did when this boat appeared at the 2016 SEMA show. Our charge tube, which connects the intercooler to the Accufab throttle body no longer fits and we must build a new one. Before we can do that, we've got remove some old powder coating from the aluminum tubing.
Enter Clemco and Rock Ridge Abrasives. We worked with both companies to set up a media blasting station in my home garage, which is beneath my house. The Shop Mate cabinet was a great solution, offering the ability to strip small and medium size parts (We've fit a trailer hitch and long tube header in there!) without filling my garage or Wifey's kitchen with a dangerous dust cloud!
This video will school you on the different types of materials available for media blasting and they are used for as well as the finer points of the Shop Mate as we keep moving along on the hardcore fabrication project.
And if you need a Clemco Shopmate media blasting cabinet or abrasive media you can find additional info in the Links below:
