For self defense purposes: Learn what to do in this situation. Take cover keeping an eye on your target making sure not to lose sight. Take down the shooter and announce when it's okay to get up. Take the gun away from the shooter and clear the room as there could be explosives on his person or in the room. Stay away from cars as they can also be rigged with explosives, a common terrorist strategy. Stay safe.
