This "Practice With PoetED" series was inspired by musician & YouTuber Warren McPherson. He is the creator of the YouTube channel "Piano Lessons with Warren" ( Definitely one of the dopiest YouTube channels out for musicians so I would highly suggest checking him out. He has some of the best piano content on YouTube in my opinion.
On his website ( he offers two FREE practice templates for Beginners & Intermediate pianists. I decided to check them out and I love how solid they are. They focus on 4 important categories: TECHNIQUE, EAR TRAINING, PROGRESSIONS, REPERTOIRE. 4 categories that should be implemented in every practice session without a doubt. He really breaks down the state of mind, the state of preparation, and the goal-setting musicians should have on this journey of becoming a better musician. These are 1hour practice templates. Definitely worth the time.
Though I don't consider myself to be a beginner pianist anymore I wanted to take a step back and make sure my foundation was solid. So I decided to use his Beginner Practice Template for my daily practice sessions and that how this series was birthed. I altered it just a bit by including a WARM-UP & JAZZ LANGUAGE category but that's mostly due to my own personal goals as a Jazz/Gospel pianists. I like to get at least 3 hours of practice in a day so here's what 1 of those hours looks/sounds like...
