Nearly nobody has a 100% symmetrical face; cheekbones, lips, and eyes are the facial features that are usually uneven. In this video, I’m going to show you how to apply eyeshadow if you have uneven eyes, i.e., if one eye is slightly higher than the other. Applying eyeshadow can be tricky if you can’t see directly why you can’t apply the eyeshadow evenly.
Tools that you will need:
- a mirror
- a dense eyeshadow brush
- a blending brush
- single eyeshadows or a palette
Step 1: Add the transition shade
Add a soft transition shade through the crease using a blending brush.
This will help you to create a guiding line for where to apply the next shadows.
Use this color to apply it as even as possible by constantly checking each stroke in the mirror.
You might not need to apply the shadow on one eye at the same height as the other one because one eye is higher than the other. Maintaining balance is key!
Step 2: Add the outer corner shadow
Add the outer corner shadow using a dense eyeshadow brush.
Start slowly and build up the color until you reach the crease; you can add the outer corner shadow a bit through the crease as well to make your eyes seem slightly more defined.
If one brow bone is stronger than the other, consider not using the same intensity of color application; this is because the stronger the brow bone, the more shadow you’ll see.
Watch the height on both the eyes when adding this color; if you know now where you shouldn’t go too high, ensure the same with this shade.
Step 3: Main lid shadow
This can be matte, shimmer or glitter as per your preference. Use your fingers or a flat eyeshadow brush for application.
Blend the main lid shadow towards the transition and outer corner shadow.
Step 4: Add lower lash line
If one eye is higher than the other, you have to bring down the shadow slightly more to drag it down. Keep it very thin on the other side while making sure that the color is visible.
Apply the shadow from the outer to the inner corner of the eye. Use a dense or flat eyeshadow brush.
That’s it! Now enjoy the eyeshadow on your uneven-even eyes!
