Public Transport Easy Benefit-Cost School Project

Public Transport Easy Benefit-Cost School Project Introduce your class to the concept of benefits and costs. This is an excellent project for middle or high school:

Public Transport is a product that encapsulates economics, geography, and city government. It is an activity that gives students the opportunity to create a simple benefit-cost analysis for a small city transit system. Students become “planners” and are tasked to submit a proposal with a design and budget. The class will be responsible for four segments: route map and timetable, terminal design, bus stop design, and security. The task can require either digital or physical artifacts from the students. After completion the class can discuss if the benefits for the city outweigh the costs.

Public Transport is also a fun, blended learning / multidisciplinary project that motivates students to use cognition as a team, produce something with a real-world application in mind, and then present their own ideas.

Public Transport is a group activity that requires 3 to 4 class periods.
