"The song is looped twice to acknowledge the cyclical and recursive state of “suffering on,” in the most literal sense conceivable. It also reflects a belief in the expendability of narrative and the imitation of life, when there seems to be no consensus on a reality to imitate and only a perpetual sea of unanswerable questions. There is no linear chain of events but a critical mass, in this case of collective sadness. In an ideal world, the video would continue to regenerate versions of itself in a perpetual "Suffer On" loop, where each new version becomes an amalgamation of its previous iterations."
