PART 2: Ultimate Chinese Street Food Tour of Chengdu, Sichuan, China! This is PART 2, of the same day, on this 14 hour day of eating Sichuan Chinese street food. Highlights of the day this tour are an old neighborhood Chinese restaurant for lunch, a huge 4.5 kg. Rooster stew, and chuan chuan for dinner. #streetfood #ChineseFood #Chengdu

Again, a big thank you to Jordan and Anita from Chengdu Food Tours ( for taking me around Chengdu for this unbelievable food tour. Here’s the main food and places we ate in Part 2 of this ultimate Chinese street food tour of Chengdu:

Lunch (Chenshi Liangfen) - This is an old school neighborhood restaurant on the outskirts of Chengdu that specializes in family style plates of Sichuan Chinese food. You just walk up, grab the plates you want, and sit down for a feast. Food is delicious, and my favorite dish was the chicken in chili oil. Total price - 128 RMB ($18.04)

Rooster Garden - This was an epic meal, you go into an empty lot field in Chengdu, and all of a sudden there’s a restaurant in the middle. They serve one thing - Sichuan Chinese rooster stew - all the rooster chopped up and braised in oily goodness sauce. We had 4.5 kg. Rooster all in a single bowl. It was delicious! 4.5 KG rooster - 360 RMB ($50.75)

People's Park - To rest our stomachs for a while, and wait for night time street food in Chengdu, we went to the park and enjoyed some tea.

Kang Er Jie Chuan Chuan - If there’s one Chinese food that is proudly from Chengdu, Sichuan, that would be chuan chuan. You choose a variety of skewers, and they are all boiled in a Sichuan soup in the kitchen before they bring them to your table. Possibly one of the world’s most addicting foods. Total price - 220 RMB ($31.01)

Xia Lao Hui Crayfish and Pig Brains - Another popular food in Sichuan is crayfish and pig brains, and we got a platter of both, cooked in red chili oil and Sichuan peppercorns. Total price - 168 RMB ($23.68)

Jie Mei BBQ (frogs) - Finally, to end this entire ultimate 14 hour Sichuan Chinese street food tour of Chengdu, we went to another Sichuan bbq restaurant where we ate chili frogs, and the owner surprised us with a massive tray of stir fried frog with chili and all sorts of amazing things. Price - 150 RMB ($21.14)
