Every Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m, a Youtube link will be posted on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School of Excellence’s website ( featuring two faculty and/or staff members who will read aloud one picture book and several pages from a chapter book.

Students who have perfect attendance each week will be placed in a drawing in which we will raffle off a copy of the books we read the previous Sunday. Students with perfect attendance for the month will not only be placed in the drawing each week but they will receive a bag of cookies and drink to take home on the last Friday of the month to enjoy with the bedtime story that upcoming weekend.
