Bodily Exercise Profits Little?

Bodily Exercise Profits Little? We can all seek to operate at peak efficiency and have a body that affords us the opportunity to better serve the Lord. A passage often used to discourage or demean exercise is I Timothy 4:8, "Bodily exercise profits little." That's usually the only part of the verse quoted. What actually is this verse saying? Why doesn’t it demean physical fitness? Why is it important to be physical fit?
