American movies are full of awesome heroes. Characters like Captain America and Batman rule the box office any time one of their movies come out. While American audiences certainly have their fair share of epic heroes, any anime fan will tell you that their favorite shows have characters that are just as epic, if not more so.
The world of anime has introduced us to some of the greatest characters of all time. These heroes have consistently fought to the edge of reason to save their friends or save the world. Unfortunately, fighting that hard often comes at a cost. Many times, we’ve had to watch our characters lose their sanity while in an intense confrontation.
These types of scenes often play out the same way. A character will either be pushed to their limit or will see the defeat of one of their friends. This trauma will then send them into a rage which often leads them to discovering new powers. In anime like “Dragon Ball Z”, “Bleach” and “Naruto”, these moments lead to some of the most awesome fights in the series. Other moments like this showcase the character’s weaknesses. Anime like “One Piece” and “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” show how terribly human our favorite characters can be.
