The Fresno Grizzlies says the World Taco Eating Championship on Saturday is canceled after a man died in the amateur portion of the event. “The competitive eating aspect of it is TBD, we are evaluating. The remainder of the event will go on as scheduled,” says Paul Braverman, spokesman for the Fresno Grizzlies.
Fresno County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Botti said Dana Hutchings, 41, of Fresno died shortly after arriving at Community Regional Medical Center Tuesday night.
The cause of death has not been determined.
