In today's video, Christian takes a look at the Patek Philippe Womens Calatrava Pilot Travel Time. In 2015, Patek released the original 5524G, the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time in white gold. The watch generated some significant controversy, with some fans of the brand feeling that they had betrayed their heritage in some way, despite actually having some history producing pilot watches. However, at 42mm, it still registered as a bit of a dud with even those who liked the watch on paper.
Fast forward to the 7234R, the so-called ladies Pilot Travel Time in rose gold. The only thing about the watch that actually suggests it might be made for a woman is the size, at 37mm, but even that is a bit misleading when you consider the breadth of other Patek watches marketed to men at that same diameter.
