The Indo-Nepal border project connecting seven districts along the Nepal border has been hanging for nine years due to lack of budget. Now, a budget of 60.48 crore has been released from the government to speed up the ongoing work in three districts. The approximately 82-km-long road to be constructed in the district is stuck in the NOC of the Forest Department. The reason is that the road formed under the project passes through the forests. In such a situation, the survey of alternative route is not being completed in view of tree pruning. Due to which the district will not get the benefit of the ongoing budget.
