News24 - Ryan Giggs urges Man Utd players to be tough with Paul Pogba after transfer saga
======================================
  Ryan Giggs has suggested the Manchester United players should kick Paul Pogba in training - to drag him back into line after his failed attempt to leave the club this summer.  The Frenchman admitted during the close season that it might be time for him to seek a new challenge, sparking intense speculation about his future.   Pogba sees his immediate future with the Red Devils but Giggs believes the World Cup winner should be given some rough treatment by his team mates.   This resembles what happened to Cristiano Ronaldo and would have been the approach taken towards disruptive individuals during Giggs' playing days.   According to Goal , the Wales manager has admitted this type of attitude is going out of fashion in modern day football.  He told the Evening Standard: "Kick him [Pogba] in training. But that doesn't happen anymore. You are starting to lose that. Now I'm not saying you kick everyone. But that was how Ronaldo got better.   " Scholesy would kick him if he took too many touches. And suddenly it clicked that you can't keep dribbling or else I'm going to get kicked.   "I saw an interview with [Vincent] Kompany at the end of the season. And he's a bit old school. He was asked about the week ahead of the last game at Brighton and he said 'sometimes I have to give a player a kick!'   Pogba was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid but that never materialised and Giggs says that supporters are divided on the issue.  He said: "I think the fans are split. Some fans say 'let him go', some fans recognise the quality he has got and that if he does go there will be a big void.   "If you get rid of all the players and you haven't got the quality to replace them then that is difficult as well. So it is a tough job for Ole that balancing act.  "Cristiano Ronaldo said he wanted to go and then did an extra year. Whether that is going to happen or not I don't know."
