Shah Faesal, the IAS topper who quit the services for politics, has been placed under house arrest. He was reportedly about to fly abroad when he was arrested in Delhi. He has been sent back to Kashmir. Shah Faesal has been critical about the government's move to end special status to Jammu and Kashmir and split it into two union territories. Yesterday, he warned in a Twitter post that Kashmir "needed a non-violent political mass movement for restoration of political rights".
