In this teaching, Lama Zopa Rinpoche goes to great length to help us make sure that when we meditate on emptiness, our meditation hits the target, whether it is the I existing from there or the table existing from there. This is because many people make the mistake of keeping the gagja, the I that is the object to be refuted, there, rather than negating it, and so it ends up that there is a real I meditating on emptiness! Rinpoche uses several examples to show us how we can go wrong and in our emptiness meditation.
