Can Thar coal address Pakistan's power crisis? Power stations running on coal are shutting down in many countries but Pakistan is bucking the trend.
Its first power plant burning coal from an open-cast mine is now operational. The electricity generated is lighting up villages, creating jobs and cutting the cost of fuel imports.
But the project is causing environmental concerns too.
